The Ocmulgee River runs along the southern border of Telfair County, Georgia. It is located along County Road 117 between Jacksonville, GA and Lumber City, GA. The river is popular for sportsman of all kind: canoeing, kayacking, fishing, camping, bird watching.
There are four public boat ramps:

*McRae's Boat Landing East River Road 3 miles West of Lumber City on Hwy 117 Lumber City, Georgia 31549
*Staves Landing East River Road Approximately 10 miles East of Jacksonville, GA on Hwy 117 Jacksonville, Georgia
*Jacksonville Landing Just off of Hwy 441 Jacksonville, Georgia
