Members of the Georgia Magnolia Midlands Travel Association (MMTA) convened in Statesboro, Georgia or a two-day retreat!

The retreat was held March 14 – 15, 2013, at the Comfort Inn & Suites, and was hosted by the Statesboro Conventions & Visitors Bureau.  This was the first ever retreat for the travel region.

The purpose of the retreat was for members of the MMTA to collaboratively work to create a vision and marketing plan for the travel association.  The retreat was facilitated by Tina Hutcheson, who is a Team Georgia Member and Facilitator for the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.

“I was well pleased with the level of participation and fresh ideas that came from the members”, said Paula Rogers, president of the MMTA.  “We left the retreat with a new direction and energetic disposition about the ideas that came forth during the retreat.

The Magnolia Midlands Travel Association consists of seventeen members representing Laurens, Bleckley, Pulaski, Truetlen, Montgomery, Candler, Screven, Bullock, Dodge, Wheeler, Toombs, Evans, Wilcox, Telfair, Jeff Davis, Appling, Tattnall, Irwin, Coffee, Bacon, Wayne, Long, and Atkinson counties in South Georgia.
