This program is designed to encourage residents to shop Telfair first, keeping more of our tax dollars at home, where they belong.
Local businesses and industries are the lifeblood of our community. Revenue generated from sales tax helps pay for police and fire protection, roads, schools, recreation and a host of other government services that we take for granted each and every day. Simply stated, the more revenue that our community generates from sales tax collections, the amount that our local governments are dependent on property tax collections will be reduced and more services can be offered. One of the best ways that we can continue to improve our community’s sales tax collections is by encouraging everyone in Telfair County to purchase goods and services locally, before traveling outside of the community to buy groceries and other goods.
As these Gift Checks are actual checks, payable by the Telfair County Chamber of Commerce, using them is simple: simply present the Gift Check as you check-out with your purchase at participating merchants. Your Gift Check will be honored just like a personal check from your checking account. It’s that easy!!!

The Telfair Shop at Home Program is an added Chamber Membership benefit provided by the Telfair County Chamber of Commerce and costs your business nothing to accept the Gift Checks.
