The Talmadge house was the former home of two Georgia Governors:
Eugene Talmadge who served two term as governor from 1933-1937, his third term 1941-1943 and
was elected to his fourth term in 1946 but died before taking office.
Herman Talmadge served in 1947 and again in 1948 to 1955.
The Talmadge House (Sugar Creek Plantation) has recently underwent a restoration and is
currently being used as a venue for weddings, showers, receptions, etc.
It is available for tours by appointment.
